South Africa - March-April 2010

And so March rolled and around and it was time for us to fly back home to SA for 3 weeks. We had been counting down the days and were really looking forward to seeing all the family, catching up with friends, having a bit of a holiday at the Breede River and attending a family wedding. What is a visit home without packing in as much as you can :)

This time we were making our way home with KLM and Air France and Hennie in particular, was very excited to discover that the Paris to Joburg leg would be on the new double decker Airbus A380. It was interesting to see about 500 people boarding one plane at the same time.

We landed safely in Joburg and were whisked off to Zebula by my mom and Tony. We just love it out and there and have such special memories of the place. Mom and Tont had organised for Hennie's parents and his sisters family to join us to it was really special to have everybody in the same place for a few days. There was some good catch up time and everyone loved being in the bush. We soaked up the sunsets and sunrises (when we woke early enough :), the walks in the braais and being able to spend the days and nights in T-shirts and shots :)
One of the things that we also managed to organise was to take Louize horse-riding with us while we were at Zebula. I must say that my husband is really getting into this whole horsey thing :) and becoming quite a pro!

From Zebula, it was back to Joburg for a day to see my dad and family and get some bits and pieces sorted and then it was off to Cape Town. We stayed with my brother and had the chance to catch up with all the special CT friends before we headed to the Breede River mouth for the Easter weekend with my brother and his girlfriend, Debbie. This was a real time of some rest and relaxation (R&R) and we loved the time spent going for walks along the beach, fishing (both early morning and evening) looking for blood worm to be used as bait (a little gross), braaing and having some good afternoon naps. The easter bunny even manged to find us in our hideaway :)

And don't forget Spencer and Toto - they also enjoyed the weekend away by the sea and the river.

Some intrepid night time fishing in the rain - pretty dedicated if you ask me!

Nothing like an African sunset!!
From the Breede it was back to CT for the night before we caught a super early flight back to Joburg. Another chance to spend some time with old friends, see the Joburg family again and do all things that are related to being at home and spending time with all the special people there. From there it was off to the bush again for my cousins wedding. Another special time as it is not often that we get that side of the family all together. All the grown up cousins together with their partners - what fun!!

The happy couple - Mr and Mrs Lynch :)

And then in the blink of an eye it was time to fly back to London. Boy, but three weeks goes go by fast!! Thank you all for an amasing holiday and making the time to see us! Miss you all loads!
