British Open (Edinburgh) - July 2010

So in the spirit of the amazing time that we had had at the Open last year we had booked and managed to convince others to join us to go and watch the Open again this year. 2010 saw the Open taking place at St Andrews - the home of Golf and so it was to Edinburgh that we headed on Friday after work.

We had organised to stay in Edinburgh so that the boys could go to the golf on the Saturday, leaving the girls to have a leisurely breakfast, before doing some window shopping and other girly things :)

The boys returned after a good day on the course all excited about the fact that a South African was giving everybody something to talk about.

So it was an eary-ish start that saw us all boarding the train to St Andrews to see the final day of this great tournament. Not only did we get to see St Andrews, be there for the 150th anniversary but we were made proud when Louis Oosthuizen - a Saffer - lifted the trophy at the end. So it was smiles all round :)

We have sort of decided that after the excitement of the 2009 Open and the winner being a South African in 2010 that we might not be able to top those so maybe we had better quit spectating while we are ahead?? We'll see, you never know :)

The Muller's and van der Watt's had taken the Monday off so before catching our flight home in the afternoon we spent some time exploring a bit of Edinburgh.
